Sandbags and Security in Shi’ite Beirut after Bombings – Dominic Evans and Laila Bassam (Reuters)

    Four car bombings targeting Hizbullah’s stronghold in Beirut’s Shi’ite neighborhoods have killed dozens of people in the last six months.

    Al-Qaeda-linked Sunni militants have claimed responsibility for some of the attacks and threatened more in response to Hizbullah’s intervention in Syria’s civil war alongside President Assad’s forces.
