IDF forces from the Home Front Command neutralized a terrorist who opened fire at their position Wednesday near the Israeli community of Ateret, located in the Judea and Samaria region.

At 10:30 A.M. this morning, the terrorist opened fire at IDF forces. The attacker, who works near the IDF position, engaged the forces in a fire exchange. After returning fire, the IDF soldiers confirmed a direct hit.
“IDF soldiers acted swiftly and professionally to prevent casualties,” IDF spokesman Lt. Col. Peter Lerner stated after the incident. “We will continue to stand guard and protect Israeli civilians from terror acts such as this one.”
Forces from the Nahal Brigade were alerted to the scene to assist the soldiers who were attacked. The IDF is currently searching the area and has launched an investigation into the incident.
