Israeli Rescue Organization Receives Official UN Recognition As Advisory Organization

Israeli rescue and recovery volunteer organization ZAKA received official UN recognition as an advisory organization on the evening of Tuesday, January 27. The UN Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations made the decision to recognize ZAKA following a four-year Israeli diplomatic campaign.

The recognition will allow ZAKA to freely enter UN offices in New York, Geneva, Paris, and Vienna. Representatives from the organization will also be able to attend conferences, discussions, and open meetings of organizations holding the same status.
