As part of an annual tradition marking Tu Bishvat (a Jewish holiday celebrating a seasonal “New Year” for trees),  2,000 young Magen David Adom (MDA) volunteers from branches around Israel, planted trees in the Carmel region’s Ofer forest, which is located near Haifa.

“We hold a special event every year on Tu Bishvat and the young volunteers planted trees this year in the north,” explained Magen David Adom Spokesperson, Zaki Heller to Tazpit Press Service (TPS).
